Toy Sacks for My Boys

I have a few homemade Christmas gifts left to share with you that I didn’t get posted before Christmas. Today I wanted to share about the toy sacks I made for my three boys. I used the toy sack tutorial from Pink Suede Shoe and followed it for the most part. I did make the sacks just a few inches smaller than suggested due to size of fabric I had in my stash.

Each boy got a toy sack and a set of Legos that I had purchased last January on clearance. (Score!) My intent was to have the boys assemble their Lego sets on the toy sacks to eliminate small pieces getting lost or finding their way into Janna’s mouth.

James has utilized his the most, but I had to tell him that he could turn his sack over and use the plain side if he wanted. I think the camouflage was making his eyes hurt. :-)

Here are the bags all closed up. The rope (I used some rope I found in the sporting goods section of Walmart.) seems a little long when they are all closed up. However, the boys like them and they may just make clean-up a little easier. I’m all for that.

My little Janna tested out one of the toy sacks before I gave them to the boys. She seemed to approve.

Perfect for those who hate to clean up after themselves.

Thank you for posting!!! I was wanting to make something like this to put legos in and the bags you can buy are soooo expensive.

You’re welcome! These went together pretty quickly. Using fabric I already had on hand meant that I only had to buy the rope. I did forget to mention that I used a denim type fabric on one side and a regular cotton fabric on the other.
