My Week in Pictures (1-28-12)

You may remember that I set an ambitious goal of taking a picture each day and posting it. I really have enjoyed taking more pictures and trying to improve my skills. However, posting them each day was starting to feel like a chore. I felt like I needed to say something clever with each picture and therefore it was starting to not be fun.

So, I took a step back and decided that a weekly picture post would be a much better option for me. On Saturdays I will post a picture from each day of the week. Here are the pictures from this week.

Monday

I love old cookbooks. My husband’s aunt gave me this cookbook recently after I had been talking about trying to find a Depression-Era cookbook. There are some really interesting recipes and tips. The cookbook underneath it is from right after WWII. There is a definite difference in the two, but they are equally neat.

Tuesday

My little Janna has decided that this cabinet is hers. She loves to pull as many things out of it as she can. It apparently makes her very happy. :) Now if only she could figure out how to put it all back…

Wednesday

I love the wild hair and cheese ball smile in this picture. The totally cute thing was that she was playing with a toy computer at her daddy’s feet while he was using his iPad. She was extremely proud of herself and I am pretty sure my husband thought she was pretty adorable, too.

Thursday

Joseph has decided that scrunching up his nose to smile is his new thing. When I snapped this picture he was filling two backpacks with toys and other various important items. He is my little packrat. I never know what he might put into a bag. Therefore I have to check them frequently because sometimes he puts things of mine in them.

Friday

Janna has been going to this cabinet all week. Like I mentioned earlier, it is apparently “her” cabinet.

Saturday

Now, before you tell me that Julia is fuzzy in this picture, I already know. We were trying to take a picture of the medal she won today at a solo singing competition. I guess we were trying to be “artsy”.

Julia has a beautiful voice and we are trying to encourage her to share the gift God has blessed her with. I could tell she was excited she won a gold medal, but she never made a big deal about it. She was very humble. Love that girl!

I see that I am going to have to take more pictures of the older kids this week. Janna is a cute subject, but the older kids are picture worthy, too.

Cute pictures! Janna is really growing up fast!

I smiled about Joseph being a packrat. Megan went through that stage too. The worst time was when she packed bananas and then the bag got buried under other bags in the girls’ closet. We missed them and then a month or so later we smelled them (it smelled like banana bread in there) but Mara couldn’t find them and then a while later we saw fruit flies and so I started cleaning and finally found them.

    Congratulations to Julia!

Thank you, Abbi! That is too funny about the bananas, yet I am sure it wasn’t funny at the time. I am always trying to keep an eye on what Joseph packs to avoid that kind of situation, but I wouldn’t put it past him. :)

Congrats to Julia! I would love to hear her in a video some day. I am sure it is something to glorify God.

That little Janna is a doll! I love her cheeseball grin, too. My little Abigail has the cheeseball grin and scrunched up face in one. It’s pretty hilarious.

Thank you, Rachel! That’s cute about your little one. :)
