January Quilt Blocks (Craftsy Blocks of the Month)

Last week I shared about a free online quilting class where you can watch videos and get patterns to make 2 quilt blocks each month for 10 months. Then you can learn how to put your quilt blocks together to make a full-size quilt.

Well, I didn’t want to share something with you that I wouldn’t do myself. So, yesterday I made the two quilt blocks for January. I decided to use some quilter’s flannel that my husband’s aunt had given me.

The blocks were fun and easy to put together and were unlike any quilt blocks I had made before.

I didn’t make the block on the right exactly like the directions, but since it was called a “wonky pound sign” block I figured it didn’t matter. :-)

I am anxious to see what February’s blocks are like. If you would like to sign up for the free class, it’s not too late. Here’s what to do.

  1. Click the banner at the top of this post.
  2. Sign up for a Craftsy account if you don’t already have one.
  3. Click on the tab at the top of the website that says “Online Classes”.
  4. Scroll down until you find the graphic for the “Craftsy Block of the Month”.
  5. Enroll in the free class and then watch the video.
Let me know if you sign up for this class and try out the blocks. I would love to see what fabrics you chose.
