This morning I spent some time cleaning all of the cabinets, woodwork and table and chairs in my kitchen. It took me about an hour, but I think it was well worth the effort.
All of my cabinets are shining and there is no dust or grime to be found. I usually only do this task once a year, but may need to consider doing it more frequently. Here’s why.
Yeah. Those are the lower cabinets near my sink. I did not realize just how bad they were because I don’t get down on the floor much. However, Janna must think I am not a very good housekeeper because this is her view all of the time. :-)
I wanted to share a recipe for making a natural wood cleaner. I quadrupled the recipe to clean all of the cabinets and woodwork in my kitchen this morning. I think it worked very well.
Homemade Wood Cleaner
¼ Cup White Vinegar
½ teaspoon Olive Oil
Mix the ingredients in a bowl. Dip a rag or sponge into the bowl and wring out. Clean any wood surface with this mixture.
The vinegar cleans the dirt, dust and grime while the olive oil moisturizes the wood.
Tip: Do you have holey socks? Don’t throw them away, use them as cleaning rags.
How often do you clean your kitchen cabinets? More than once a year? ;-)
Tomorrow I will be cleaning my oven and toaster oven.
