It’s already week 7 in my quest for a more organized life and home. I am feeling like my progress is slow, but I am making progress. That is the most important thing after all.
Since beginning this journey I have started reading my Bible for 15 minutes each day, I am getting dressed nicely most days, I am making an effort to exercise (even though I didn’t do well at this last week), I am getting more sleep, I am drinking more water, I am managing my computer time, and my bathrooms are all clean and ready for company.
I have accomplished much, but there is still much left to do in order for me to feel more organized.
This week’s goal is another housekeeping goal and it pertains to my kitchen.
This is how my kitchen has looked before bed more times than I care to admit. And, guess what? It looks the same way when I wake up in the morning. There are no little elves cleaning everything up while I sleep. Too, bad. :-)
So, what’s my excuse? A baby? 5 kids? Too much on my to-do list? Being tired? Procrastination?
Yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes.
That is why my goal this week is to not go to bed with dirty dishes in my sink.
Notice that I didn’t say I had to keep my kitchen sink clean at all times. I live in the real world and that just isn’t going to happen, at least not yet. Maybe that can be a future goal.
For now, I just want to wake up and not have to clean my kitchen. In order to accomplish that I have to clean up before I go to bed.
Is there anyone else out there that doesn’t like waking up to a dirty kitchen? Join me this week as I try to turn my new goal into a habit.
