A good friend asked me this question this morning:
“I’m starting to clean out my deep freezer in preparation for this year’s harvest. I quickly realized that as organized as I try to be, I have found no good way to organize my freezer so things are easily accessible and so that at the end of the year I don’t end up with 20 bags of corn left because I didn’t know they were in there…. Do you have any easy frugal suggestions for freezer organization? I’ve tried cardboard boxes but have a hard time finding ones that fit and don’t end up with wasted space!”
Here is what I suggested to my friend.
Milk crates.
I use milk crates in my freezer to organize everything. I can stack them 2 high in my smallish chest freezer. They have handles which makes them easy to lift out to access what is underneath. Plus, they keep me from feeling like I have to go digging for buried treasure every time I want to get something from my freezer.
While this works for me, I realize it might not work for everyone else. What freezer organization tips do you have for my friend?
