When I saw the cute glittery Santa’s belly jars at Crafts by Amanda I emailed my sister-in-law and asked her if she wanted to come over one day this week and make some. Yesterday, she came stopped by and we decorated four jars that I recycled (I couldn’t bear to use my good canning jars.).
I thought the jars might be fun to fill with goodies, but my sister-in-law said she might be able to pick up some battery operated tea lights at the Dollar Tree to put inside. Either way I think they are cute.
I couldn’t find any black glitter for the belt, so we just used some black acrylic paint. You will also notice that the glitter we used was pretty large and the one I linked to was made using a much finer glitter. We thought they were cute anyway.
I am going to use some clear spray varnish over the top of the jars, but will test just one first to make sure it will work. I am just not sure either of us want glitter all over our houses. There is enough at my craft area.
It was fun to sit and talk while we decorated these jars. Thanks, Emily, for hanging out with me yesterday.
