Glittery Christmas Jars

When I saw the cute glittery Santa’s belly jars at Crafts by Amanda I emailed my sister-in-law and asked her if she wanted to come over one day this week and make some.  Yesterday, she came stopped by and we decorated four jars that I recycled (I couldn’t bear to use my good canning jars.).

I thought the jars might be fun to fill with goodies, but my sister-in-law said she might be able to pick up some battery operated tea lights at the Dollar Tree to put inside.  Either way I think they are cute.

I couldn’t find any black glitter for the belt, so we just used some black acrylic paint.  You will also notice that the glitter we used was pretty large and the one I linked to was made using a much finer glitter.  We thought they were cute anyway.

I am going to use some clear spray varnish over the top of the jars, but will test just one first to make sure it will work.  I am just not sure either of us want glitter all over our houses.  There is enough at my craft area.  :-)

It was fun to sit and talk while we decorated these jars.  Thanks, Emily, for hanging out with me yesterday.
