My husband has been taking three different pills each day since he was diagnosed with high blood pressure and diabetes. While this is not ideal, I did try to see some positives in all of his pill taking. So, I asked him to save the pill bottles when he finishes a bottle. Amazingly, he has been doing just that. (He often thinks I am nuts that I want to reuse items he would rather throw away.)
I had several bottles saved and decided to do some crafting with my oldest two children over the weekend. I found some bandage scrapbook paper in my stash and an idea was born. Why not make a bandage holder for my purse?
First, I got out my supplies. I used some Mod Podge Hard Coat I had left from some other projects, so this project cost me $0 since I had all of the supplies already.
I was using a small pill bottle, so I cut the piece of paper for the bottle to a size of 4 1/2 inches x 2 1/4 inches. I cut a 1 inch circle for the lid. (For a large bottle we cut the paper to a size of 6 1/2 inches x 3 1/2 inches and cut the circle for the lid at 1 3/4 inches.)
The pill bottle had some grooves, so I just cut two little notches out of the paper to make a snug fit.
Next, I applied Mod Podge to the pill bottle, lid, and the back side of both pieces of paper.
I applied the pieces of paper to the bottle and lid and then applied Mod Podge
Once everything was dry it was finished.
This small size of pill bottle only holds a few small bandages, but I have plans to make an entire first aid kit out of a large pill bottle. I just need to find some more bandage scrapbook paper.
We gave my mom one of these for her birthday. My kids thought she would love it. 
If you would like to just have a pretty little container for holding beads, loose change, safety pins, or other small items, you are only limited by the hundreds of scrapbook paper choices. My daughter chose to make herself the floral container pictured above. The circle on the top was exactly the right size already.
This is a simple project that gives new life to something that might ordinarily be thrown away.
