I wanted to share some more key points and scripture from Created to Be His Help Meet by Debi Pearl. I had thought about only posting once a week, but I decided that it will take too many weeks that way. So, I will just post two chapters at a time whenever I get them outlined.
Monday I posted about chapters 1 & 2, yet I didn’t say a whole lot about the book. This book includes letters written by actual people, Debi’s responses to those letters, scripture, and personal stories and thoughts from Debi Pearl. While some of the ideas challenged me, I found myself trying to find little bits of time when I could read just a few more pages.
I also want to say that a help meet is much more than helping with chores. From my reading I have gathered that there isn’t just one thing that makes a woman able to be a good help meet to her husband. This book is 24 chapters long, so if it was just one thing there wouldn’t have been a need to write the book.
I will share one piece of scripture with you before I begin with the chapters for today. It is the first time that the words help meet are listed in the bible.
Genesis 2:18, 21-22 18And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him…21And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
Again, this is just me taking key ideas and scripture from the book to further study. Anything in quotes has been taken directly from the book.

Chapter 4-Thanksgiving Produces Joy
- “Make love fun.” Your husband should be your playmate.
- “I am his (my husband’s) help meet. That is, I am his helper, suited to his needs. I meet his need for conversation, companionship, and a playmate.”
- “Every day, I remember to view myself as the woman God gave this man. This mind-set helps me be just that: a gift, a playmate, his helper.”
