Cloth Diapering on Vacation

Today I decided to share one more thing about our trip. I have posted about it here and here. However, I haven’t told you that I cloth diapered my little guy on the trip and didn’t use a single disposable diaper or wipe for the entire 5 days or 4 nights.

He hasn’t had a disposable diaper on him since he was a newborn, but I wasn’t sure if my husband would want to mess with cloth. When I asked him about it he said it was up to me. So, I decided I was up to the challenge of cloth diapering on a trip. I guess I am a die-hard cloth user now. :-)

In order to make it through the week I did wash diapers one time while we were gone. This allowed me to not have to pack 5 days worth of diapers and it allowed us to be able to handle the smell.

I mostly used the KCK One diapers I had made stuffed with flat diapers (see posts here and here). I used some ProWrap Classic covers with the flat diapers as well. This diapering system was quick to use and quick to dry. I used the two wet bags I made and that was it (see post here).

We saved money by not having to buy disposables plus we didn’t contribute more waste to any landfills. I was thankful that cloth diapering on our trip worked for me.
