Artist Drawing Case & Pillows

I have been making more things for Christmas gifts. I made 14 of the Little Artist Drawing Cases pictured above. They are for various kids on our Christmas list. I followed the tutorial on a site. Thankfully, I printed them because the link no longer works. Here is a link I found from the same site. http://craftapple.wordpress.com/2006/12/06/little-artist-crayon-cases/ It doesn’t have the instructions, though. The cases are made from fabric I already had in my stash. My husband made the notepads and made enough for each child to have 2 extras. I found a good deal on the twistable crayons online. Hopefully, the kids will like them and be able to use them to stay entertained when out and about.

I made the pillows above for my children for Christmas. I had thought about trying to make bean bag chairs, but decided to go with large floor pillows instead. I made an inner pillow that was 28″ square and used a 1/2″ seam allowance. The outer pillow was cut at 29″ and sewn with a 1/2″ seam allowance. The fabrics coordinate with their rooms. I had the bright idea to stuff them with foam microbeads. I found them on Ebay and bought 20 gallons. I think the kids will like the way they feel, but they were very hard to use. They were tiny and got everywhere. Note to self: do not use above mentioned microbeads again. Anyway, the kids can use them to sit on to read or whatever they want.
