I don’t always talk about my son Joshua’s food allergies because they have become such a part of our lives that they aren’t a big deal anymore. He is a healthier and happier little boy than he was three years ago, and that is the most important thing.
Even though cooking around Joshua’s food allergies is old hat now, it wasn’t always that way. I remember being rather frustrated trying to figure out what he could eat. Now that he is seven years old, and willing to try more things than he was as a 4 year old who had to have everything he loved eating taken away from him, it is easier to cook for him.
Many times over the years I have made my son a separate meal than the rest of us. However, I have found that it is actually easier to make the majority of what all of us eat safe for him, too.
With that in mind I have gathered 10 main dish recipes that we enjoy eating and put them into an eBook called 10 Allergy-Free Main Dish Recipes.
All of the recipes in this cookbook are free of the top 8 allergens (wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, tree nuts, peanuts, shellfish, and fish) except one that contains fish. However, you don’t have to have food allergies to enjoy the recipes in this eBook. All of the recipes are well-liked by my family, both those with allergies and those without.
Here are some of the recipes that are included: Baked Gluten-Free Chicken Nuggets, Gluten-Free Pizza, Gluten-Free Breaded “Fish Sticks” or Fillets, and 7 more recipes.
