Since yesterday was Mother’s Day I had my Sunday School class make something for their mothers.
First, I helped the children trace their handprint onto a piece of green construction paper. After cutting them out the children glued a flowerpot, the handprint, and the top of the flowerpot (a thin rectangle) to another piece of paper.
Note: I precut the flowerpot pieces and the flowers.
Next, the children glued flowers onto each of their fingertips.
Finally, I wrote down the children’s responses to the statement, “I love my Mommy because…”. The two pictures above are my 2 and 5 year old’s. 🙂
Older children could most certainly write their answers themselves.
We also talked about mothers in the Bible like Mary, Hannah, and Jochebed.
The idea for this craft came from two sites: Food, Love & Life and Preschool Crafts for Kids.
