On Friday my children and I, along with my brother’s family, went to a u-pick strawberry patch. I came home with 39 pounds of yummy strawberries.
With the help of my daughter Julia, and my oldest two boys with safety knives, we got all of the strawberries stemmed.
We ate quite a few of the berries as is and with a little sugar on them. We pureed the rest of the strawberries in the blender.
They became strawberry sorbet (Strawberry puree and sugar to taste frozen in a dish.),
frozen cubes for smoothies,
and the rest will be made into strawberry jam tomorrow. (Check out my tutorial.)
