A couple of weeks ago Julia woke up with Silly Putty on her nightgown, the nightgown that I made her for Christmas, the nightgown she loved.
It wasn’t her fault. Joseph had laid down beside her and they had both fallen asleep. Little did any of us know, but he had gone to bed with his Silly Putty in his hand. Whose idea was it to put Silly Putty in the boys’ stockings? Oops!
In case you ever have the same thing happen to you, I wanted to tell you what I was able to do.
First, I pulled as much Silly Putty off of the fabric as possible. Then, I applied rubbing alcohol to a rag and blotted the Silly Putty. The alcohol helped to disintegrate it and I was able to get all of it off.
I washed the nightgown and as you can tell from the picture there is a little bit of a stain. It actually doesn’t look as bad in real life. The nightgown is so full that Julia and I had a hard time finding it to even take a picture.
So, if you ever find yourself in the same predicament, grab some rubbing alcohol and try not to panic. 🙂
Has this ever happened to you? What is the hardest stain/gunk you have ever had to try to remove from fabric or a kid?
