Our garden is continuing to grow and we are getting closer to enjoying fresh produce.
I am always amazed at how quickly zucchini grows. This hill of zucchini is really taking off. Plus, take a look at what I found when I knelt down for a closer look at the plants.
They are just about ready to flower which means we will be enjoying some fresh zucchini before long. Yummy!
Our corn is really getting tall. It’s already as tall as Janna who was just about ready to take a dip in the pool but took a stroll through the garden with me first. 🙂
The lettuce looks ready to me. I think we will be enjoying salads and BLT’s a little later this week.
My broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and brussels sprouts are getting eaten up by bugs. I need to do something about this very soon. I am going to try a friends natural bug spray and will let you know how it works.
Our back garden spot is growing well, but I have not been as diligent about the weeds. The sweet potatoes and butternut squash are going to get choked out if I don’t get to work.
The potato plants are really quite tall. I have put some dirt around them because I have read that you are supposed to keep adding dirt around the plants.
Even though we got some rain early Tuesday morning, we still could use a good soaking rain. Amazingly, everything is growing despite the drought we are in. Is your garden a dust bowl like mine?
