I came up with this idea yesterday and had my son try it with me this morning. I simply wrote out three sentences on a strip of card stock and had him use foam letters and stickers to fill in the blanks. He did well with this activity.
Not only was this activity helpful for name recognition, but it is also like a mini book about my son. I am going to try this activity with my preschoolers soon. I have bagged up the letters and numbers for each child to eliminate searching for the correct letters.
I only wish I had found foam letters that were upper and lower case. I am sure they make them or I could have found letter stickers.
My son also wanted a piece of paper to make a train track. He worked so hard to make it and used some of our stickers to add to it. It was actually a great writing exercise making all of those lines.
