I know I said last month that July was one of the busiest months I could remember, but that was before I knew how busy August would be. I know that most people would think that sending 4 of my 5 children to school would mean that my days would be easier but that really hasn’t been the case.
There have been lunches to pack, kids to drive to school, cross country meets to watch, a husband who is a principal to support, tomatoes to can, and websites to design. Yes, I think it is safe to say that my days are pretty full. But, you know what? I am loving it all!
I didn’t take near as many pictures with my good camera in August as I normally do, but I still managed to take several. Here are a few of my favorites.
Water beads. My kids, from 3 to 15, all had a blast playing with them. I think I may have to write a whole post about how much fun they are. 🙂
Last month I told you about Julia, James, and Joshua’s 4-H projects. In early August we headed to the state fair to see how Julia’s sewing and child development projects and Joshua’s electricity project did. I am happy to report that all three projects received blue ribbons.
We had a great time seeing the projects and all of the sites the fair had to offer. We even rode some rides and the big kids got to ride all around the fairgrounds on a tractor with their daddy. Janna had fallen asleep in the stroller by that point so she and I headed to the vehicle.
This year was a little different than most years at the start of school because my husband started his first principal’s job and is James’ principal. We are in our 5th week of school now and the kids, and my husband, are all doing a great job.
This weekend we did a little dancing around the house and I just loved this picture of James dancing with Janna while Joseph cut loose in the background. There is literally never a dull moment around here. 🙂
There were a lot more posts I wrote in my head than actually got posted in August. Maybe I will get back to blogging regularly someday. In the meantime, here are the posts I did manage to write last month.
