I am excited to get to post my pictures of the week thanks to our Internet coming back on late this afternoon after being down since Wednesday morning.
I didn’t realize how much I do use the ole’ world wide web until I didn’t have easy access to it for over 4 days. Gasp! I survived, though.
In other news, Julia hasn’t been feeling well for several days with symptoms of bad headaches, a fever, not as much energy, and this morning she broke out in a rash. My husband took her to the walk-in clinic this morning and they determined it is some sort of virus that she appears to be fighting off.
I am praying she is over the worst of it and that the rest of the kids can stay healthy.
Now, here’s a look at our week, in pictures.
On Tuesday my uncle picked the field right by our house. James and Joshua were excited to get to ride with him for a little while. We are thankful that, despite the severe drought we have been in, there was corn for my uncle to harvest.
I have to tell you about the picture of Janna on the blanket. I took that picture this afternoon while Joshua was pulling her around on it. She completely trusted him while he drug her through the dining room. Janna sure loves her big brothers and sister to let them do all that they do to/with her.
Now, I must explain about the picture of my husband. No, I didn’t harm him in any way other than to get tomato juice all over his shirt and face. You see, he had purchased a big box of tomatoes from a local farmer’s market for a very good price and was helping me juice them up on Friday evening. (We like to party on the weekends.
)
Anyway, I was pushing the tomatoes through the juicer while he was turning the crank. I guess I got a little overzealous because all of a sudden tomato juice shot out of the top of the juicer like Old Faithful. My husband stood there in disbelief for a few seconds during which time I decided that the best course of action for me was to get the camera and snap a few pictures.
Taking pictures wouldn’t have been your first thought if you had just covered your husband with tomato juice? Maybe you are more compassionate than I am. I would like to say that my second thought was something more helpful, but I really was just hoping his shirt wasn’t ruined and mentioned that he probably should have worn a darker colored shirt.
We did have a good laugh despite my unsympathetic actions. I do love that man and there is definitely never a dull moment around here. I wouldn’t have it any other way, though.
