Homemade Ice Cream & Weekly Menu Plan

Note to self:  Do not sit in the recliner after 9:00 p.m., especially if you haven’t taken a shower yet.  I know you will say that you are just going to try to nurse the baby to sleep and then do some work.  However, when you wake up at 1:00 a.m. and realize you are still sitting in the recliner you won’t feel like doing any work.  Believe me, this has happened too many times recently.  Just go to bed.

Last week we had my parents and my brother and his wife over for dinner. My children helped me make some homemade ice cream that was very tasty.  I used a recipe from Heavenly Homemakers that was very healthy.  I didn’t have any arrowroot powder so my ice cream turned soupy pretty quickly.  However, that didn’t take away from how good it tasted.

My husband thought the cream was a little on the pricey side and said that we could have purchased ice cream cheaper.  While that is true just check out the experiment Heavenly Homemakers did about store bought ice cream.  Part 1 & Part 2

If you read those two posts you might understand why I wanted to make homemade ice cream.

Now, here is what we are having for supper this week.
