Back in February I posted a placemat bag tutorial. Today I wanted to share a new tutorial I made for a placemat tote bag that is horizontal instead of vertical.
I made a placemat bag like this one a few months ago, but never posted a tutorial. When I found two bright green placemats for $1 each I thought they would be perfect for a new bag and to make a tutorial.
I embellished the bag with this felt flower. I saw a tutorial for how to make a flower like this on Lu Bird Baby. However, I didn’t have the tutorial in front of me when I was ready to make the flower. Plus, I wanted to use my sewing machine to make the gathering stitch. So, I totally was winging it on the flower.
